Call to Arms! GOTV in Pennsylvania

CALL TO ARMS! This weekend La Salle University is welcoming their new freshman and Pennsylvania for Change, Obama’s PA outreach team, has asked for our help! 

We need as many Stony Brook students as we can get to help out at La Salle this weekend! I myself will be trying to get down there ASAP, but it would be great if we got a few more Brookers down there as well. We will hopefully be able to stay with students at La Salle on their campus, and transportation from the city is über-cheap on Megabus (megabus.com), Bolt Bus (boltbus.com) or GoTo Bus (gotobus.com), an aggregator of cheap Chinatown busses. 

If you are interested in going, please email SB4Obama@gmail.com or write on the discussion board of our Facebook group. It may be easier if we go down as a group, so we can coordinate accordingly. We will be aiming for Friday.

Philly or Bust

New York Students for Obama has teamed up with their Pennsylvania counterpart to pair universities across New York with Pennsylvania schools as a means to ratchet up support for our candidate in the Keystone State. Pennsylvania has voted Democratic since the 1988 election, but many still consider it a swing state. Plus, Barack Obama failed to win Pennsylvania in a hard fought primary, although he did make up significant ground in the polls on Hillary Clinton towards the end. 

So Stony Brook University extends a warm welcome and well wishes to our sister school La Salle University in Philadelphia!
